Primary Markets

Our Primary Markets team has completed more than 675 debt capital markets (DCM) transactions for ICBC’s clients since 2016. It has successfully led USD, EUR and GBP denominated Debt Capital Markets transactions for Blue-Chip Issuers such as BP, EDP, General Motors, Ford, National Grid (UK), Veolia, and Volkswagen, as well as Emerging Market offerings for TAQA, Hungarian Export-Import Bank, the Republic of Angola, the Sultanate of Oman, the Government of Georgia, and numerous US$ offerings by Turkish Banks.

We also act as the International Distribution Agent of Standard Bank. In that capacity we partner with SBSA for all of their international USD denominated bonds offerings by SBSA’s Sovereign, Corporate and Financial Institution clients. Examples where ICBCS acted as Distribution Agent for SBSA are the offerings of by The Republics of South Africa, Ghana, Gabon, Kenya, Namibia and Nigeria but also the Corporate issues by Eskom, Seplat Petroleum, Liquid Telecom and Axian Telecom.

Our debt capital market team is comprised of experienced industry professionals who offer full-service DCM Origination & Execution, Syndicate & Sales capabilities. Our platform is underpinned by a market leading (EM) Sales and Trading platform.

ICBC’s international clients can therefore benefit from a dedicated DCM platform underpinned by a market leading (EM) Sales and Trading Platform. From an EM Sales perspective in particular we enjoy deep relationships with hundreds of high-quality investors with an aggregate AUM estimated to exceed USD20tn (across EM and IG).

We are here to assist all ICBC’s clients and we are readily available to offer the following services:

• Global Coordinator, Joint Bookrunner and Distribution Agent services (for SBSA) for Sovereign, Financial Institution and Corporate clients
• Bespoke issuance recommendations, trading colour and international capital markets updates
• Secondary market trading of new issues to support liquidity and price performance
• The team also regularly undertakes more junior roles as (Senior) Co-Manager for debt offerings by ICBC’s clients
