Hong Kong Sees 1.59 bln USD Surplus
 

The government of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) recorded a surplus of 12.4 billion HK dollars (1.59 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of September, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau said on Tuesday.

For the first six months ending on Sept. 30 in the fiscal year, the HKSAR government saw 221.7 billion HK dollars in expenditure and 234.1 billion HK dollars in revenue.

The government saw 4.7 billion HK dollars in deficit in September with 38.35 billion HK dollars in expenditure and 33.64 billion HK dollars in revenue during the month.

Fiscal reserves stood at 966.4 billion HK dollars as of Sept. 30. (1 U.S. dollar = 7.80 HK dollars)
